From May 24 to November 29, Chungcheongbuk-do hosts the Chungbuk Value-On Market in the Provincial Hall every Friday from 10 AM to 4 PM, offering direct distribution of the region’s outstanding agricultural specialties. “Chungbuk Value-On” is Chungcheongbuk-do’s new electronic commerce platform for agricultural products, scheduled to open in September. Its name carries the hope that the platform will become the center of both online and offline markets. The market will open at the square in front of the Provincial Hall, offering agricultural specialties produced by local farmers, such as mushrooms, Aronia, figs, paprikas, tofu, and honey, as well as Ugly Kimchi and handicraft items at prices up to 30% cheaper than the market price. An official from Chungcheongbuk-do commented, “The direct distribution market in the Provincial Hall will provide new market demand for farms experiencing difficulties in finding sales routes and a chance for consumers to purchase high-quality agricultural products at affordable prices.” |
