Following the success of the Youngchun Festival last year, this year’s Jazztonic Festival at the Cheongnamdae Presidential Villa marked its highest visitor number, taking a step closer to reaching one million annual visitors.

The Cheongnamdae Management Office (Director Kim Jong-gi) announced that the “2024 Cheongnamdae Jazztonic Festival,” held for three days from May 17?19 within the Cheongnamdae Presidential Villa, brought successful results with 30,066 visitors.

According to Cheongnamdae, of the 30,066 visitors during the Jazztonic Festival period, 13,926 were ordinary visitors, and 16,140 arrived at the venue to enjoy the festival. This result is a 33% increase from the number of visitors during last year’s Jazztonic Festival period (22,606) and around a 54% boost compared to the result in 2022 (19,524).

In particular, those who visited the area solely to enjoy the festival, excluding visitors to the Cheongnamdae Presidential Villa, rose by 85% year-on-year from 8,700, breaking the highest record and allowing Cheongnamdae to assume that the festival has secured its brand value.

Cheongnamdae also established a safety accident response system for visitors before the Youngchun Festival last year, achieving zero accidents at this year’s Jazztonic Festival, where an enormous crowd gathered in a single area.

However, the inevitable congestion due to Cheongnamdae’s geographical conditions, such as limited parking space and narrow access roads, caused inconvenience for numerous visitors, posing obstacles in parking and access that demand a resolution.

The 2024 Cheongnamdae Jazztonic Festival, under the title “Romance Campus,” featured various music pieces played by the best artists to embellish the day and night of Cheongnamdae’s deep-blue Daecheongho Lake, clear sky, and verdant nature. The festival presented unforgettable memories to around 16,000 visitors and bid farewell, promising wonders for next year as well.

“The Cheongnamdae Jazztonic Festival has surely established itself as the central region’s best music festival,” said Kim Jong-gi, the director of the Cheongnamdae Management Office. He added, “We will continue to let Cheongnamdae grow as the centerpiece of art and culture through a wider range of festivals and programs.”
