Chungcheongbuk-do to increase hospitals designated for pilot deferred payment program for medical expenses
부서
내용 - Added 9 hospital-level medical institutions with more than 100 beds
- Participated by a total of 107 medical institutions, including 12 general hospitals, 9 hospital-level institutions with more than 100 beds, and 86 dental clinics

Chungcheongbuk-do (governor Kim Young-hwan) will greatly increase the number of hospitals designated for the pilot deferred payment program for medical expenses, which is being promoted for timely treatment of disease and easing the financial burden of medical expenses for the underprivileged in health care.

Currently, there are 12 general hospitals (6 in Cheongju, 2 in Jecheon, 1 in Okcheon, and 1 in Jincheon) designated for the program. Patients seeking artificial joint or spinal surgery from six cities and counties (Boeun, Yeongdong, Jeungpyeong, Goesan, Eumseong, and Danyang) without general hospitals had the difficulty of going to other regions to use the deferred payment program.

To alleviate the inconvenience of these patients and ensure that no patient is marginalized based on their residential area, Chungcheongbuk-do has added nine hospital-level medical institutions with more than 100 beds capable of surgeries ― Ppuri Hospital (Cheongju); Ochang Hosu Hospital (Cheongju); Cheongju Hyundae Hospital (Cheongju); Micro Hospital (Cheongju); Chungju Central Hospital (Chungju); Boeun Hanyang Hospital (Boeun); Youngdong Hospital (Yeongdong); Goesan St. Mary's Hospital (Goesan); Jeil Joeun Hospital (Eumseong) ― for the program to increase convenience for artificial joint and spinal surgery patients having low application rates in comparison to implants.

In addition, the number of dental clinics designated for the deferred payment program has increased to 86, up from the original 68. As the project progresses, the number of “good” medical institutions hoping to participate in the project to promote the residents’ health is steadily growing.

An official from Chungcheongbuk-do said, “The participation of medical institutions is required for the stable promotion of the deferred payment program for medical expenses. There's an inconvenience of having to visit the designated hospitals, but we will urge more hospitals to join so that patients can get treatment at their chosen hospital.”
