Chungcheongbuk-do Province Conducts Disaster Recovery and Inspection of Disaster Prevention Sites
On Monday, Chungcheongbuk-do Province conducted the disaster recovery and inspection project on natural disaster maintenance sites in Jecheon-si and Chungju-si in preparation for natural disasters during the summer such as heavy rain and typhoons. Target sites include the Nongolcheon disaster recovery site in Bongyang-eup, Jecheon-si, the Bongyang district disaster maintenance site, and the Daritjae disaster recovery site in Sancheok-myeon, Chungju-si. On the day, recovery sites were inspected for its actual conditions such as construction and safety management, and the projects were encouraged to proceed soundly. Early recovery from natural disasters was also encouraged to prevent any possible damages. Lee Jae-young, the head of the Disaster and Safety Management Office in Chungcheongbuk-do Province, visited the site and said, “I hope they (site workers) will continue to perform inspections so that residents feel safe and that they do their best to finish the recovery project promptly,” while emphasizing the importance of “site management” to “prevent possible damages caused by natural disasters during the summer season.” Meanwhile, the province plans to conduct special inspections on recovery sites where damages by natural disasters have not been fully recovered, which will take four days from the 19th to the 22nd of this month. Target sites include 154 of the 2,625 public facilities that were damaged by heavy rain and typhoons in the province last year, as well as sites where the recovery project has not been completed as of July 14. Chungcheongbuk-do Province plans to review the progress and detailed plans made so far and analyze problems such as causes of delays to encourage early recovery and preparation. |
